Scones.....

I decided to make scones today
I felt like some date scones,

Instead of looking through my recipe books
I decided to look online for a recipe.
I found a recipe but while I was looking
I also found a recipe for Pumpkin Scones.

Son(1) and DiL are in Kingaroy Queensland and
that is the home to an Aussie who is
famous for her Pumpkin Scones,
Lady Flo Bjelke-Peterson
so I decided to make her recipe
It is here if anyone would like to
try her recipe.

We had one for morning tea and it was very tasty.
While the oven was hot
I also made the date ones and
Daryl reckons they are the nicer of the two.
The recipe for the date ones are here

I will try one of these later on today.

My Son and Dil are visiting Aunts and Cousins
in the week they will be away.
He is also showing our Dil where we used to live,
it had been a while since we lived in Kingaroy
he would have been about 9yrs old when we left there.
He wasn't sure if he would remember
how to get there as we
 lived 20kms out of town.
We just got a call to say they found it OK.

They were going to have lunch
then off to buy some of their famous peanuts.
A favorite of S(1) are the tomato ones
but they are all yummy.

I had better go and do the little bit of
ironing I have before the pile gets too big :0)

Hope you all have a good day

Mmmmm I am coming to morning tea at your place Debbie. Haven't had scones in ages. I have Lady Flo's recipe book here and use it regularly, great old fashioned recipes in there.

Can't remember if I have tried date scones but they sure look yummy and I love dates.

So lovely to see a remembering nod to Lady Flo, a significant personality when I was growing up in QLD. Pumpkin scones were very big in the outback at that time.
